Tabari's Story
Life
Tabari Zaid Bomani (formally Ronald L. Hart) currently works as a social studies teachers and college advisor at the Bushwick Outreach Center (B.O.C.) (now called Bushwick Community High School) an Alternative High School in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn. The Bushwick Outreach Center admits students who were unsuccessful in their previous schools (i.e. dropouts, push-outs, safety transfers, etc.). Once admitted into the B.O.C., students must take and pass the classes that they need in order to fulfill their requirements for their High School Diplomas; this includes passing all necessary regents exams. Tabari has successfully help students apply to , and attend, major colleges and universities in the New York State area. Tabari has lectured and performed poetry for community based organizations,colleges and universites. Tabari earned his B.A. from Hofstra University in 1987 in History and Secondary Education, and he earned his M.A. in History from Brooklyn College in 1997. Tabari is a member of Malik fraternity Inc. and Phi Alpha Theta National Historian Honor society. currently, Tabari is also a board memeber of the W.E.B. DuBois Charter School
